Congratulations Trish Giles
I think I speak for all the Christian Democratic Party in congratulating Patricia Giles on being awarded the honour of the Medal of the Order of Australia on Australia Day.
The Council for the Order of Australia specified that she should be recommended to the Governor-General for the award based on her “service to local government and to the community of Pittwater”.
We couldn’t agree more.
Being a local resident for over 25 years and having served on Pittwater Council since 1992, she has made a remarkable contribution to her community.
Many of her years in the area she has spent fighting for better local outcomes and against bureaucratic and Government neglect. I think particularly of her ongoing efforts to achieve a fully-functional hospital at Mona Vale.
We all know how terrific Trish is, as a representative and advocate for her community, as a member of the Christian Democratic Party, and most importantly as a fellow Christian. However, this award demonstrates that her efforts have not gone without notice by the nation as a whole.
