The End of the Asbestos Road
Its been a long time coming but asbestos sufferers have finally been served with justice.
“The tax breaks on the billions set aside by James Hardie for asbestos victims have finally be implemented,” Rev Dr Gordon Moyes said today. “The fund will now be able to fund care and compensatation to the victims of James Hardie’s asbestos products.”
“Justice has now been served so their should be no more excuses to hold up the flow of money to the victims,” Dr Moyes said.
“Tribute must go to one of the finest Australians I have ever seen, Mr Bernie Banton, who has sacrificed so much for this cause. I suspect that when he was a young man he never thought he would become a household name for his work on behalf of asbestos victims,” Dr Moyes said. “He now deserves one incredibly holiday.”
“I also thank the Prime Minister for hearing Bernie’s plea back in July,” Dr Moyes said. “We publicly prayed with Bernie immediately prior to his meeting with the Prime Minister and those prayers were heard.”
