Introduction to Australian Short Stories by Dr Gordon Moyes

“I have found that some of the best ways to tell people about the love of God is through the telling of stories. Jesus used stories and parables throughout his ministry.

The stories I have told each Sunday night for over seventeen years on my radio Program Sunday Night Live with Gordon Moyes, are real stories about real people and situations. Some of them are funny, some are sad, but each communicates an important lesson about God’s love for His people.

I hope you will enjoy reading them, as much as hundreds of thousands of people every week enjoyed hearing them. These stories have become part of a legend in radio broadcasting history, with at least two Prime-Ministers, two Governors-General, two Premiers publicly stating they end their week every Sunday night by regularly listening to these stories. During their years of being broadcast, they achieved the highest ratings of all broadcast programs.

I hope you enjoy them in print as much as I have enjoyed writing them, about the people who have made my life for nearly fifty years.”
